Great
Lakes Island Life
Custom dates
Have
you ever fantasized about living on a remote island? Or, have you wondered
what transportation might have felt like thousands of years ago? Here
is your chance to experience a rare opportunity! Les Cheneaux island archipelago
has unique Great Lakes marshes, bays and forested and limestone cobble
features. Let us show you the unique ecology and history of the Les Cheneaux
Islands while we paddle to inner bays and remote islands. Opportunities
to view uncommon natural habitats and wildlife are the trip highlights.
We will enjoy our evenings with fabulous dinners and a sunset hiking excursion.
The accommodations are at a historic, comfortable island camp. This 1800s
summer place is steeped in family tradition and rich with history. The
camps back door is a lush experience of an enchanting cedar forest,
fens, and long stretches of isolated cobble and sand beaches. Your cook
for the duration of your stay will primarily prepare recipes from the
award winning, local cookbook Hollyhocks and Radishes. Give yourself a
day to explore on your own by planning a fifth night to your stay. This
