Celebrate
the turn of the seasons paddling and camping with a group of adventuresome,
nature-lovingwomen. Spend the afternoon learning paddling, safety skills,
and kayak packing necessary for extended trips Great Lakes paddling. Paddle
out to Government Island where we will set up base camp under the cedars.
In the evenings, stargaze and listen to Lake Huron lap along the limestone
cobble shores. The following day, after a hearty breakfast prepare for
a day long paddle journey into the chain of islands, stopping for lunchand taking time to reconnect to the earth. Nature is our greatest teacher
about our own nature, through facilitated guideance and group experience
learn about the deepest part of the Self that rises when interacting with
the Earth in the company of women.
Experience the island channels,
tranquil boathouses, rich marshes, and fresh air. Return to the island
base camp for campfire meals, campfires and good company. Plan to see
rare Great Lakes Marshes, migrating waterfowl and raptors, experience
the sweet waters of Lake Huron, and learn why this watershed is so vital
to a diversity of species. Included: all meals, sea kayaks/gear, instruction
and guide will be provided. All levels welcome, however good fitness is
helpful.

- Start Location-
At Woods & Water Ecotour Office in Hessel. Carpool to the
kayak launch.
- Grade-
easy kayaking- no experience necessary. Bring your own tent and sleeping
bags. Gear list will be provided. You provide your own transportation
to launch destination.
- Provided-
2 nights/3 days. Meals and snacks. Kayak/paddling gear and instruction.

Contributions- Volunteer time for island clean-up days.
- Cost-
$345. Trip size is between 8- 12 people. Women who have attended previous
ecotours or this harvest moon trip in the past are eligible for 10%
off.
